February is...Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

February is Teen Dating Violence (DV) Awareness Month!

This topic is important to me. Not only is it a major topic in my first novel, Break From You, but all too often our teens are subject to dating violence...and they may not even know it. Sometimes teens don't know what a healthy relationship is and think the violence, manipulation, and control is normal.

But it isn't. And it's time to teach our teens and young adults otherwise.
Learn the facts.

Join the cause.

Save the date and mark your calendars for this year's :

Wear orange day- February 9th. You are encouraged to wear orange and support the cause.
Twitter Chat- February 4th 3pm EST
Twitter Chat- February 18th 7pm EST

And National Respect Announcement on February 12th.

This years theme is...

“Love = Setting Boundaries,” because boundaries are an important part of every healthy relationship.

Teen DV Month (sometimes called TDVAM) is a national effort to raise awareness about abuse in teen and 20-something relationships and promote programs that prevent it during the month of February.
Dating violence is more common than many people think. One in three teens in the U.S. will experience physical, sexual or emotional abuse by someone they are in a relationship with before they become adults. Help us spread awareness and stop dating abuse before it starts!

January May be Ending But Stalking Awareness Needs to Continue

Just like 7.5 million others in the United States, I have been a victim of stalking. And like 25% of those stalked, it was by someone I knew. I was watched from a distance, mostly online, and became a target of harassment.

Stalking is scary.

Stalking is a crime.

And even though January is ending, continuing to raise awareness shouldn't.
It's important to keep the conversation going. The more we know, the more power we have.

Learn the facts.

Help stop stalking.

Keep the conversation going.

January is...

Welcome Back!

WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!!!!

It's been a long, long time. Life has been crazy and happy and good. I took a much needed break away from blogging, posting, and social media. It was needed. I feel great. But I'm ready to be back.

And the future looks bright!

So many exciting things are coming up. And I can't wait to get back into the grove.

First off, I am returning to blogging. You will see more of me here with lots of great information, upcoming events, new releases, and so much more. If you are interested in joining my email newsletter for more up-to-date information and pre-release news, please email Add to List to rebeccagreengasper@gmail

Second, I am starting an Indie Publishing blog. Back when I published my first novel, I knew nothing. And I mean nothing. So I really didn't think I had any right telling others how to do it. But now, 10 years after starting and 5 after becoming a published author, I want to share my stories. I am planning on talking about things that worked, things that didn't and sharing my continuing journey on this every changing path.

I also decided to join in on the fun in April and do the A-Z blogging challenged. I joined in a couple of years ago and loved how much fun it was. I can't wait to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new people.

I am excited to announce that the first book in my new adult series, The Harley Files, will be released this spring. Check back often for new information and behind the scenes stories.

I have also embarked in a new adventure. I am the founder and editor-in-chief of a new online gluten free magazine. We will cover everything from going gluten free to baking, cooking, and much more. We are working hard to get everything ready to go live soon. If you are interested in gluten free information. Stay tuned.

I can't wait to see more of everyone, and I'm looking forward to reconnecting.

WELCOME BACK!!

Here's to seizing the day!

Best to all,
Becca

Hi, All! Been a Long Time...

Hello! It's been a while since I've posted anything new on my blog. I thought I'd update some...I'm excited to announce that I have a new release!

Introducing....

Young Adult contemporary fiction, social issues, violence, gangs, prejudges

Available now at amazon.com and smashwords.com

Caton Hernandez has never felt so alone, and he’s used to being alone. His single mother is never around, and when she is, she’s either passed-out or strung-out. He tries to keep to himself in his neighborhood south of the high school where kids hang in groups just to survive and violence runs high. He knows he needs to stay out of trouble so hopefully he can get out one day.

Yet, somehow Caton’s managed to get caught up in a major mess and finds himself in the middle of a conflict between the South Boys and the Westies. Two people have been shot, one of them his girlfriend, and he and a couple of boys from his neighborhood have been arrested for the crime. He’s in deep, he’s alone, and he needs help.

But when the state sends him to the Denver Youth Correctional Center and the DA wants to push for a transfer to adult court, Caton quickly learns how fast others are to judge him solely on his home life, his mother, and the neighborhood he’s grown up in. He knows he can’t do this on his own, but will he be able to get someone to listen in time? Or will Caton be forced to give up before having the chance to fight for his freedom?

He believes. No, he knows he’s been wronged, but will anyone else believe him? Or is he in this alone?

Enjoy!

Things have been crazy this year. I hope everyone is doing well. Can't wait to re-connect and chat with everyone.

Have a wonderful day!
Best to all,
Becca
