It is important to stand up and fight against youth violence. Stop the violence by speaking up, knowing consequences, telling the truth, leading by example, thinking about your future, and thinking before you act.
Here are some characters from YA books who fight against violence...
Katniss from the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is forced to fight in a violent game set up by the capital. Ironically the capital forces it's districts to compete is such a violent game as a punishment for their violence and rebellion against the capital years before. The trilogy is about Katniss' journey to standing up to the violence of the capital.

Battle Royal was even more violent than The Hunger Games.
Katniss Everdeen: great role model, especially when it comes to violence.
Bella Swan: worst female role model imaginable. All that matters is having a boyfriend, and according to her, it's totally okay that her guy left her looking like she got in a car accident after the first time they made love because it was so violent.
My wife just watched and reread Hunger Game, but I haven't gotten into it yet. Nonetheless, def anti-violence is a good stance:)

I'm glad to see there are a few people here besides me who haven't read the Hunger Games! I thought I was alone LOL.
The world is so violent, these days, great topic to discuss and think it's a great subject for stories.
We should see more anti-violence stories out there.
